JAIL THIS MAN
REVIEW THE JUDGE
“In another case, Allison [Judge Paul K. Allison] sentenced a 33-year-old Manheim man to 10 year’s probation Friday for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl numerous times between March and June 2002. …According to a police report filed by state police Trooper Brendan P. McAnally, Kopp [Brian Allan Kopp of Manheim] had the girl fondle him and he also fondled her. ‘She related that (Kopp) advised her not to tell or she would be spanked or smacked,’ McAnally says in his complaint.”
Today’s Intell, “2 sentenced for assaults on children.”
REVIEW THIS CASE
This is an outrage. This 33-year-old man ruined a little girl’s life and he received a sentence of 10 years of probation? Is this a sick joke? Sex offenses against children are not taken seriously in Lancaster County and this “sentence” is a disgrace. I call on the Bar Association and the President Judge to review this case and Allison’s sentence now. There is no possible explanation for this sentence. None.
ROGER RENTERIA
Kopp was represented by defense attorney Roger Renteria. In an ironic twist, that is my other headline story today. Renteria represents Micah Stewart, who is charged with the murder of Cortney Fry, and in an unrelated case, Stewart is charged with three counts of attempted homicide for a shooting in Columbia on March 30, 2005. That case is scheduled to come to trial first and will begin on Wednesday, March 1 of this year.
Renteria just left the Walmer Law Firm and formed his own law firm, Renteria & Wittington, with partner and fellow 2001 graduate of Regent University School of Law, Jay Wittington. Their new office is located at 53 North Duke Street, directly across from the Court House.
Renteria was brilliant, no, that’s not too strong a word, in the preliminary hearing of Stewart for the murder of Fry. These are two young attorneys to watch. There will be more on the upcoming case involving Stewart and the shootings in Columbia tomorrow.
QUAKE
Nothing raises my anger level like the word “Quaker.” So I will save yesterday’s New Era article, “Young and old stand together for peace” for tomorrow. Let me just say for today that they are frauds and hypocrites at the very best.
~ I Forgot Some Things ~
I APOLOGIZE
I apologize. Sometimes I forget the obvious, simplest and most important things. I forget how much money is involved in the convention center and how so few, but already wealthy and extremely powerful men, will reap the only rewards from its construction. I forget how powerful, rich and cut-throat the three members of the Penn Square Partners are. I forget how they control everything that goes on in Lancaster County. I forget how powerful, rich and cut-throat state Senator Gib Armstrong is. I forget what a total sell-out Mike Sturla is.
I apologize for believing Mayor Rick Gray when he said he would take a hard look at the situation. I apologize for believing him when he said he would do a feasibility study. I apologize for believing that he would listen to a Brookings Institute Fellow on how to revitalize downtowns. I apologize for believing that he would listen to the desires of the citizens of Lancaster County.
The only consolation I have is the knowledge that anyone, well almost anyone, has to be a better mayor than the cable stealing, gun selling, crude liar who inexplicably held the office for eight years. But that really doesn’t make me feel much better.
I apologize. I will try to do better in the future.
COMING SHORTLY - I will take a close look at the very scary and dangerous relationship between the Lancaster Newspapers, the District Attorney’s Office and the Lancaster Police. Unchecked power corrupts.

LCCCA meeting tomorrow – January 30th at 7:00 pm at Southern Market Center. Tell them “NO!”
P.S. I forgot to answer yesterday’s question, “Who’s the rich white guy?” Why, that would be The Donald, of course. No, not Trump. Totaro, as in District Attorney Donald Totaro.

“A SIN IS A SIN”
(Representative Scott Boyd quoted in this morning’s Intell article, “Defending the union Lawmaker explains his support for marriage amendment.”)
Why is Lancaster so conservative? Why is Lancaster so far behind the times? Why is crime and corruption rampant in Lancaster? The Lancaster Newspapers, that’s why.
Two absurd, ludicrous and dangerous articles are on the front page of today’s Intell. They are both aimed at gays. Hasn’t there been enough written about this idiot, Republican house representative Scott Boyd? He’s making a laughing stock out of Lancaster. This genius is quoted today as saying, “Society already frowns upon such things as marriage between family members.” Oh, my God! Get this moron out of here.
And speaking of God, the second article is about evangelists who are challenging Pa’s hate crimes law because it includes gays. It’s as if the newspaper’s owners, editors and reporters live in a time warp. Email Ray Shaw, the editor of the Intell, and tell him to put some real news, and not hate, on the front page of his paper – rshaw@lnpnews.com .

Here’s something they could have put on their front page – Lois Herr, a Democrat, is running for the 16th District seat in the US House against Republican Joe Pitts who is running for his 6th term. Herr now has a website and it is www.loisherr.us. Herr hopes to capitalize on her strong showing against Pitts in the 2004 Congressional race by using the internet to build a broad base of new supporters. Go Lois!
Please check back tomorrow for more on DA Donald Totaro, County Detective Joseph Geesey, the Cortney Fry case and the Borden murders.

Please check back this weekend when there will be more on District Attorney Donald Totaro, County Detective Joseph Geesey, the Cortney Fry murder and the lack of local news coverage on the Borden murders/David Ludwig. What is going on?
The following are quotes from the December 15, 2002 Sunday News article by Barbara Hough Roda, “A mother’s dying wish” (please also see the related story below on this website):
“Battling cancer, grief and the clock, she feared that she would die before the 10th anniversary of her daughter’s unsolved murder. Mrs. Mirack wanted
