“QUAKERLY FASHION”
Several weeks ago, there was an ad on KYW Radio in Philadelphia. It questioned whether anyone had had a problem with their child at Abington Friends School (Quaker) and listed a phone number to call. I assumed it would be a law firm. It was not. It was an individual’s home and I left a message with a young person who answered the phone.
A woman called me back several weeks later and apologized and said they had received over 100 calls. I immediately told her I was a reporter and the reason for my call. She said she would have their attorney call me (he was just switching law firms) and he has not to date.
But apparently it has something to do with the treatment of special needs children and at one point in our conversation she said, “If they had acted in a more Quakerly fashion, I don’t think this would have happened.”
I disagreed, and I told her that I was raised all my life as a Quaker and my father molested me and my brother is a pedophile.
She said, “Oh, my God!” She was outraged. Where is the outrage in Lancaster? Why do the Quakers, the ACLU and Franklin & Marshall College continued to let Charles and Millicent Holzinger represent them?
There will be much more next week and I will continue to pursue the lawsuit against the Abington Friend’s School. (The home page of the school is here).

Herr said Pitts, who released a written statement Wednesday calling Hastert a man of “integrity” who should not resign, owes constituents in the 17th District an explanation for his support of the speaker.
“We will keep asking the questions,” Herr said during Thursday night’s Lancaster County Democratic Committee banquet at the Quality Inn and Suites in Manheim Township. “We will not let them rest.”

Good for you, Lois. As a Democrat my entire life, it is difficult for me to have the box at the top of this site regarding Mike Sturla – but he simply must go. Please note that I strongly support all of the other Democratic candidates and a list of them is here.
The Intell reporter was really working hard because he called Washington, D.C. (by the way - it's the 16th District) and says this:
Gabe Neville, Pitts’ chief of staff in Washington, D.C., said Herr took the congressman’s words out of context.
“To use (the Foley scandal) to score political points is pretty contemptible,” Neville said in a phone interview. “I’m sorry to see her stoop to this level.”
What a hoot! “Stoop to this level.” Can you say “political hack?”

DECEPTION
Speaking of reporters, I was truly shocked by the lead article in yesterday’s New Era, “A SOLEMN FAREWELL,” by Jack Brubaker (click here). Yes, it’s well written and moving and you assume that Jack was there:
“Food processed by many hands filled the kitchen. The benches filled the porch and all the first-floor rooms but one. That room had been cleared of furniture except for one small bench.
On that bench in that bare room lay Naomi's body in a plain pine coffin with its hinged lid open.
A pretty little girl in a white dress, with a white prayer cap covering her dark brown hair, Naomi showed no signs of her morning of suffering three days ago.
Naomi's funeral followed ancient tradition. Several Old Order ministers delivered lengthy sermons in German, providing biblical instruction and admonition.
Well, as it turns out, Jack wasn’t there. There is this disclaimer at the end of the story:
“All of the children's funerals are private and restricted from the public and press. This account was assembled from the writer's earlier observations, with substantial aid from friends and neighbors of the Ebersols.”
This is indefensible. This is unbelievable. This is deception and his account is made up. The public deserves and should demand much better than this.
PRINCIPLED POSITIONS
Finally, on Pat Snyder’s home page (click here), there are quotes from various people that seem to change on a random basis (before you email me, Harper, I know this site is a mess and I have no right to talk about anyone else’s), and yesterday I caught this one:

A LEGACY OF ABUSE
Authorities are now reporting that Charles Carl Roberts, IV, the shooter at the Amish School, was home schooled his entire school years. They are also saying he molested female family members when they were young and he was young.
There is a reason some families “home school.” Maybe a very small percentage – but most certainly some – to keep the public unaware of what is going on in the household and keep the children away from the public for fear they will tell. Incest, cruelty, starvation or some other perversion.
And some of you don’t think I should be telling the incest story – you say it’s a personal, family matter. No, it’s not. It’s a crime. It's "worse" than other sexual molestations, if that is possible, because it's by your own parents, for God's sake. And it has ramifications that pass down from one generation to the next.
My brother is a pedophile who molested both of his brothers and possibly his own children and his own nephews and has left this continent for Africa.
The Elizabethtown Professor, Representative Mark Foley and now Roberts, were molested as children. That’s why they do what they do - and so it goes on. And it's in the news every day. And something has to be done about it - now.
Ron Harper said I should have called my mother on Mother’s Day! Never in this world. Does anyone have an understanding of how painful this is?

I called the Lancaster Police Department at 11:33 this morning. A woman named “Mindy” came on the line. I asked her if the police had announced the action they were going to take in regard to the video on WGAL. She said, “Just a moment,” and put me on hold. I held for five minutes. She apologized when she came back on and said that “the information has not been released.” I asked her if it would be today and she said she didn’t know. Stay tuned….

Note to the County Commissioners - these days there is something called the internet and there are wonderful things known as search engines. You type someone’s name into Google and guess what? You get a ton of information.
The problem with your candidate for interim county administrator, Thomas C. LeCrone, is that he doesn’t “Google.”
He’s an “international consultant” but he doesn’t have a website? Gee, one of the only things that does “Google” for him is that he was the Treasurer of the Denver Mile High Chapter of the AITP from 1980 to 1981 (click here).
And what is the AITP? From their website they are (click here):
“The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) offers opportunities for Information Technology (IT) leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals. And this man doesn’t have a website?
He also must live in a cave. There’s no community involvement, he’s not on any boards, and he barely ever made the newspapers. What is going on?
I spoke with him by phone at length this Wednesday. I was not comforted by anything he said. Of his marital status, he finally said he is divorced and has one daughter. No, you can’t ask him that in an employment interview but I sure as hell can and did ask the question.
