SEXISM & MURDER!
ARROGANT AND SEXIST
“To disagree with the commissioner on the merit of her argument is one thing and is perfectly proper. However, to cavalierly dismiss her proposal with, ‘It’s just Molly being Molly,’ is another thing entirely – arrogant and sexist come to mind as appropriately descriptive of the mayor’s mind-set in this matter”
From a Letter to the Editor in today’s Intell by Bernie Schriver
I couldn’t agree more. Go, Molly, Go! And where the heck is sexist Mayor Gray? Also notice the recent silence of Representative Mike Sturla and Senator (Daddy) Gib Armstrong. Hmmm.
SAVE STEVENS SITES COALITION
“We are concerned that LCCCA Authority Chairman Ted Darcus and Executive Director David Hixson, do not commence demolition of the Stevens and Smith properties until all financing and necessary approvals for the convention center have been resolved.”
Lancaster businessman Robert Field in a phone interview last night.
Robert Field, Luis Mendoza, Ron Harper, Jr., Tom Despard, Bruce Clark, Lenwood Jackson, Jr., Bonnie Miller, Chris Hart-Nibbrig, April Koppenhaver, Randolph Carney and others met after the LCCCA’s Tuesday morning meeting and formed the “Save Stevens Sites Coalition.”
They are holding demonstrations and handing out literature every day this week through Saturday and possibly beyond, in Penn Square from noon to 1:00 p.m. Meet them at noon at the monument. You can also contact Robert Field for more information at (717) 940-1221.
An article in yesterday’s New Era stated, “Hixson said this morning that work has been delayed [on the demolition of the back of the Thaddeus Stevens and Lydia Hamilton Smith residences]. He did not know when it would begin.”
Field said that is not good enough for the group and they want assurances that there will be no demolition until all of the funding and litigation and all matters pertaining to the construction cost of the convention center have been favorably resolved. Join them in the square over lunch!
VOTE FOR HERR!
Lois Herr, running against incumbent Representative Joe (he’s the pits) Pitts, was endorsed by the National Education Association citing her commitment to public education and children. Also, today and tomorrow are the last two days to vote for Herr to win Democracy for America’s “Grassrooots All-Star” national endorsement. Please click here and vote for the Herr for Congress campaign (PA-16). This would be a huge boost to her campaign. Wow! She's already number five! Please vote. Go, Lois, Go!
I WAS NOT INVITED TO ATTEND!
The Vidocq Society (click here) is meeting in Philadelphia today at noon and reviewing the 1975 murder of Lindy Biechler in Millersville. I will have much more on that tomorrow along with a look at the golf course tangle between District Justice Maynard Hamilton and Policeman Robert Buser. Who is Buser? Well, he sent this website an email…
PLEASE CHECK BACK TOMORROW.
