~ Pennacchio is not a Cry Baby! ~
& CRY BABIES
These handsome men are Chuck Pennacchio, Democratic contender for the senate on the left, and Jerry Policoff, the head of Lancaster Countians for Pennacchio, on the right. The picture is from the rally preceding the debate between the Democratic candidates at F&M on April 19, 2006. The Democratic endorsed candidate, Bob Casey, Jr., is an “anti-choice, anti-stem cell, pro-war conservative.” Click here for Pennacchio’s website and the facts on Casey. Vote Pennacchio!
“CRY BABY WOMEN”
“I like this - if I were to say there is a time when women should just let themselves be raped, shut up and let it go you would have a pinkie blow up but you suggest I shut me voice down from alerting the general ignorant public about the actual war being fought by lying, cry baby women who would paint their poor pitiful lives as being victimized by men.”
Posted by Bennett J. Vonderheide on Talkback on April 1, 2006. More of his quotes are here.
“I don't write if I have a conflict of interest. That's why I often don't write about stories when I am involved.”
Ron Harper of 5thestate.com posting on Talkback today.
As posted on the front page of this website as “Breaking News,” Ben Vonderheide threw several connecting punches outside the courthouse on Friday. Ron Harper was also present. This is Harper’s version:
“You got your facts all wrong. Ben was assaulted by Ted and Kathy Yoder. His shirt buttons were ripped off by the two of them! Ben threw one punch in self-defense and then ran. They ran after him and continued harassing him. It's not pretty.”
That is not the version I heard Harper and I don’t believe it. After just getting a “victory,” there is no legitimate reason for Ben to throw punches. What a wonderful example for his son! As the poster who reported the incident said:
“RH attached himself to the wrong wagon in this case.”
There will be more tomorrow on this, including a look at Harper’s slanted, and nasty stories on this custody battle on his website.
ANGRY, BITTER AND HURTING
“The men in men's rights groups are typically in their forties and fifties, often divorced or separated, and nearly always heterosexual. In both general men's rights groups and fathers' rights groups, participants often are very angry, bitter and hurting (with good reason, they would say), and they often have gone through deeply painful marriage breakups and custody battles.
For some men's rights men, feminism has largely achieved its goals and women have more choices, while men are still stuck in traditional masculine roles. For some, feminism was once a 'human liberation' movement that now only looks after women. For others, it never tried to liberate men, it has even tried to keep men in their traditional roles (e.g. as providers), and "feminazis" are involved in a conspiracy to discriminate against men and cover up violence against them.
Some men's rights and fathers' rights groups have links to conservative Christian organizations and support a traditional patriarchal family as the only real and natural form of family, while others have more flexible visions of family and gender relations. But most share the common enemy of feminism, as well as gay and lesbian politics and other progressive movements and ideals.
… ‘Men's rights’ draws on the ignorant and defensive reactions to feminism among many men, as well as right-wing backlashes (for example against "political correctness" and efforts at social justice).

SEXUALLY EXPLICIT MATERIAL
That defines the Sally/Starling/John J poster to a tee and may point to why John J was killed off. Those theories will come later this week. What concerns me is why this person wasn’t banned months and months ago for vicious personal attacks and crude and sexually explicit material. In fact, the grieving widow was in fine and usual form in the “In memory of John J” thread when a poster said this to another poster, not the widow:
“You make me smile and that is no easy task.”
“And the grieving widow responded with this:”
“Have you tried new batteries? Some Meds are also known to do that. I hear Welbutrin is a hoot, makes some people hornier than ever, but causes ED in some men and some women just can't climax no matter how much horse power they apply. Often referred to as one of God's little jokes.”
DON’T COME HERE
I will leave you with that thought in mind and there will be more on Vonderheide and the grieving widow this week. Actually, I’ll leave you with this thought:
“…and I am weary and disgusted at the insane rantings and weird agendas published on the LIP Blog. Becky, it’s sites like yours that give the Free Speech Amendment a bad name…GET THERAPY NOW!!!!”
Posted on Talkback yesterday under the Vonderheide thread.
What a hoot! Hint to poster – don’t come here. That way you won’t be weary and disgusted anymore. Simple, huh? Glad to be of help.
