“TOLERANCE & DIVERSITY”
“Lampeter-Strasburg and Solanco School Districts have very few minority students in them” “…The area Gib serves is overwhelmingly white.” (The letter is here and please also see “Contest - Find a Person of Color” below.)
This is simply unacceptable in the year 2005. Yes, you read that correctly. It is shameful and unacceptable. Young Gib should be working to bring diversity and tolerance to his district and not trying to take away our freedom of speech.
I want to take a hard look at this issue, so I will leave it at that for now and write a lengthy article at a later date. I have a personal stake in this issue.
My son is bi-racial. I know about prejudice. I’ve lived it and breathed it for the 21 years since he was born. And I am sick and tired of it. Sick and tired. This country has to change. Lancaster County has to change. It has to happen now. My son and I are not going to tolerate it any longer.
HOODIES
Finally, a quick update on our search for a person of color to shake Young Gib Armstrong’s hand. We had a perfect candidate – 24 years-old and no criminal background. However, he balked at the button-up shirt requirement saying, “No one takes my picture unless I have a hoody on.” Sigh… It’s August, for heaven’s sake. The search goes on.
SHAKE MY HAND, PLEASE!
THE SEARCH CONTINUES
It’s been a busy, busy day. I have been fielding inquiries all morning, but sadly, we are no closer to finding a person of color willing to be photographed shaking hands with young Gib Armstrong than we were yesterday (see below under “Breaking News”). So the search goes on and today’s post will be very short as a result. Several quick notes - tomorrow I will take a serious look at Armstrong’s House Resolution No. 177. Does his father, old Gib, need company on that train out of Lancaster? A lengthy email has come in supporting young Gib, and I will print that as well as posting, of course, an update on finding that special person of color willing to shake young Gib’s hand.
*** BREAKING NEWS ***
Young Gib Armstrong is desperately looking for a person of color willing to be photographed shaking his hand. The successful man or woman should be at least 18 years of age, have no criminal record, be willing to wear a button-up shirt and will promise to smile broadly while being photographed shaking young Gib’s hand. Please, please contact this website if you would like to be the first person of color on young Gib’s website!
· An email in from someone suggesting the Chinese delegation qualifies as a person of color. For heaven’s sake, no, ten Chinese does not one person of color make.
· Oh no, Dr. Fraud thinks he has won the contest. There’s a surprise.
ALL THIS AND MORE COMING LATER TODAY!!!
CONTEST!!! FIND A PERSON OF COLOR.
Young Gib Armstong with Jennifer Brown. Young Gib is concerned about “tolerance and diversity on PA college campuses.” LIP News has a new contest! Find a person of color on young Gib’s website. Seriously, go here and look. Yes, there’s one young girl, but I think she’s the lone Hispanic in his photos. Find a person of color and you win! Wow, young Gib - I’m glad you’re concerned about tolerance and diversity!
I will have my response to the letter supporting young Gib tomorrow (it is here.) In the meantime here are two very important quotes from that letter; “Lampeter-Strasburg and Solanco School Districts have very few minority students in them.” and “The area Gib serves is overwhelmingly white.”
COMING TOMORROW…

WHERE’S THE MONEY?
“The current members of the General Assembly have slapped taxpayers in the face by awarding themselves a huge pay increase. While some members did vote ‘no’ on the increase, it is common knowledge that all votes were pre-arranged to protect vulnerable seats.” http://www.pacleansweep.com
“State Representative Gib C. Armstrong says he has changed his mind about immediately taking the pay raise the General Assembly gave itself last month. Armstrong, a Strasburg Republican, is on a list of 17 members of the state House who voted against the pay hike but then elected to take it, through a loophole known as ‘an unvouchered expense,’ before the next legislative session.”
“…According to the clerk’s office, however, once an expense is processed, there’s no way for legislators to prove they didn’t take the money unless they choose to make all their vouchers and receipts public.” Today’s New Era article, “Rep. Armstrong backs off pay hike.” The article is here.
I guess, young Gib, you better show us all your vouchers and receipts. Every one of them. Young Gib wants a pay raise and yet he wants to spend our money on this very dangerous crap:
~ Young Gib’s Resolution No. 177 ~
CRAP, DANGEROUS CRAP
(Below are excerpts from Resolution No. 177. This has nothing to do with “tolerance and diversity.” This has everything to do with denying freedom of speech. This is a disgrace. This is downright scary. Young Gib has got to go.)
“AS AMENDED, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, JULY 5, 2005
A RESOLUTION
Establishing a select committee to examine the academic atmosphere and the degree to which faculty have the opportunity to instruct and students have the opportunity to learn in an environment conducive to the pursuit of knowledge and truth at State-related and State-owned colleges and universities and community colleges in this Commonwealth.”
“WHEREAS, Students and faculty should be protected from the imposition of ideological orthodoxy, and faculty members have the responsibility to not take advantage of their authority position to introduce inappropriate or irrelevant subject matter outside their field of study…”
“RESOLVED, That the committee may hold hearings, take testimony and conduct investigations within this Commonwealth as necessary; and be it further
RESOLVED, THAT IF AN INDIVIDUAL MAKES AN ALLEGATION AGAINST A FACULTY MEMBER CLAIMING BIAS, THE FACULTY MEMBER MUST BE GIVEN AT LEAST 48 HOURS’ NOTICE OF THE SPECIFICS OF THE ALLEGATION PRIOR TO THE TESTIMONY BEING GIVEN AND BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO TESTIFY AT THE SAME HEARING AS THE INDIVIDUAL MAKING THE ALLEGATION…”
*** BREAKING NEWS ***
Young Gib Armstrong says he needs the extra $15,454.92 a year for the expenses he is incurring trying to find a person of color willing to shake his hand! Stay tuned.
A letter defending young Gib Armstrong is here. My response will come later today…
